- The alarm was raised around 4.30 p.m., as reported by Toni Geiger, on-call manager.

Hikers reported that a slab of snow had come off at the level of the Ohlstädter Alm - precisely on the H5 hiking trail, which leads from Lake Walchensee to the Heimgarten summit.

However, they could not say whether people were at this point at the time and perhaps had been buried.

"As a precaution, we went out with the helicopter Christoph 1 from Munich, an avalanche dog and eight men from the mountain rescue service." The rescuers were flown onto the slab.

"We searched everything there with the dog." However, there were no objects or traces to be seen that would have indicated a victim.

The dog didn't respond either.

"After we knew that nobody was in the avalanche, we ended the mission and our people were brought back," said Toni Geiger.

Mountain rescue urgently advises: Pay attention to the avalanche report

Both the mountain rescue service and the police currently strongly recommend that you check the avalanche report before you start a snowshoe tour or hike.

Because: “You have to reckon with slabs,” says Toni Geiger.

The Tölz police added that due to the warmth and the amount of snow still present in the mountains, entire slopes could be sloped.

Even before that, around 4 p.m., the Kochler mountain rescue service was on duty on the Jochberg.

A hiker fell there and sustained a hip injury.

With the help of the rescue helicopter Christoph Murnau, the injured person was treated by the emergency doctor and finally flown to the hospital.
