Covid-19: at the Eugène Delacroix high school in Drancy, more than 20 classes will be closed from Monday

The staff of this high school in Seine-Saint-Denis had denounced Thursday, in an open letter addressed to Emmanuel Macron, an “alarming situation” justifying their right of withdrawal.


Twenty-two classes at the Lycée Eugène Delacroix in Drancy, in Seine-Saint-Denis, will be closed on Monday March 29 due to the very degraded health situation in the establishment, where teachers have exercised their right of withdrawal, announced this Sunday the rector of the Créteil academy.

The staff of this school had denounced Thursday, in an open letter, an "

alarming situation

" which justified their right of withdrawal.

In this establishment, the Covid-19 had dramatic consequences, with "

the death of about twenty parents of students

" since the start of the epidemic, they also alert.

We have since last week in cumulative cases 35 students and a dozen staff who have been positive

", explained Daniel Auverlot, indicating that the principal had already made the decision to "

close twelve classes from last week

", revised figure on the rise since the last directives from the Ministry of Education.

Jean-Michel Blanquer indeed announced Friday that in the 19 reconfigured departments, a single case of Covid in a class would now result in its closure.

The rector also announced that a "

massive detection

", via tests, will be held in the establishment Tuesday and Wednesday, for staff and students.

Nationally, the number of students infected with the coronavirus has further increased in one week, from more than 15,000 to more than 21,000 (a rate of 0.17% against 0.13% a week ago).

The number of contaminated personnel is also on the rise from 1,809 to 2,515, or 0.22%.

In Seine-Saint-Denis, the department where the coronavirus incidence rate is the highest in France, other teachers exercised their right of withdrawal at the end of last week, as at the Politzer college in La Courneuve.
