The bloodshed in Myanmar does not stop: Army forces in the South Asian country opened fire at noon during funeral processions in the second largest city, Mandalay.

At least eight people were killed in the shooting and hundreds were injured.

More than 114 protesters have been killed by army forces on the bloodiest day since the protests against the country's military coup broke out last month.

More than 400 people have been killed since a protest began against the military coup, which took place in early February in the country.

Despite the heavy bloodbath, the country's military junta commander, General Min Heng Aliang, is holding a gala ball to mark "Armed Forces Day" as thousands of his countrymen mourn their loved ones killed by the military.

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called the military junta's "rule of terror" and accused the military of "committing horrific acts against the majority of the population in order to serve a small minority."

Britain, Japan and Australia have also issued statements condemning the massacre.

Along with the suppression of the violent demonstrations, the Myanmar army began airstrikes on villages in Keren province in the west of the country, bombings that caused more than 3,000 refugees to flee on the Thai border.

Myanmar Air Force helicopters attacked the convoys of refugees and according to various reports in the country, there are wounded and dead among them.

Mai Lin, a fictional resident of Yingon's largest city, told Israel Today: "The army has turned Myanmar into a slaughterhouse. The army and police have shot at innocent people and arrested many of them. The world must stop looking the other way, Myanmar needs urgent help."
