The Planegger Heide-Volm has closed forever as a result of the long exceptional corona situation.
At other Würmtaler restaurants, the situation is not yet so existential.
If the lockdown gets longer and longer, it becomes difficult for some others as well.
Würmtal
- For example, the Graefelfinger Italian is currently “Villa del Duca” with less than 30 percent of normal sales.
“I've put some personal money into the restaurant over the past twelve months.
If the whole thing goes for a very long time, we won't make it ”, says owner Anastasio Arvanitis.
The restaurant in Bahnhofstrasse not only offers pick-up food, it also delivers throughout the Würmtal valley and as far as Germering.
Nevertheless, the situation is difficult.
"I'm slowly losing confidence in the matter," says Arvanitis.
Two of his employees have gone back to Italy and will only come back, if at all, when the situation is more normal.
The partial openings that were discussed at times are also not a solution at the moment: Arvanitis did not open the outdoor area around a week ago, even if this would have been possible.
“It wouldn't have been worth it with the snow.
You have to buy more food and beverages, you need more staff.
That can quickly become a boomerang at the moment, ”says Arvanitis.
Longer lockdown, bigger problem
"If the lockdown lasts longer and longer, the problem for us will naturally get bigger and bigger," says Georgios Koutsas, managing director of Kraillinger Knossos.
Despite the pick-up service, the Greek is only at 20 to 25 percent of normal sales at the moment.
State aid has not yet arrived either.
But the restaurant doesn't want to open again until it's warmer again.
"Now that doesn't work," says Koutsas.
The situation is not yet threatening the existence of the restaurant, but that could change.
On the other hand, the Planegger Pe.Es.
Kottmeier, says managing director Peter Schweitzer, even if the restaurant has also suffered major losses.
However, Schweitzer has to pay less lease, "we have a very large outdoor area, which will be an advantage if we can open the outside again," says Schweitzer.
The landlord is therefore "in good spirits to get through the lockdown" despite the loss and is hoping for a reopening in May.
The Pe.Es.
Kottmeier only offers food to be picked up, not to deliver, as otherwise the usual high quality of the restaurant might not be able to be maintained.
Fortunately, landlords and the state are helping
In view of the circumstances, the new Italian Noi Ridiamo is “completely satisfied”, reports landlady Brigitte Ferradino.
“We are pleasantly surprised that the takeaway business is at least running in such a way that we can cover our fixed costs.” The landlord was also accommodating to the restaurant, “so that we have so far got away with a black eye compared to restaurants in downtown Munich, for example , even if sales are of course much lower than normal, ”says Brigitte Ferrandino.
Some government aid has already arrived for November and December, so it is not yet existential for the restaurant despite the decline.
The Planegger Mi Casa Su Casa is still making ends meet despite all the difficulties.
The pick-up service is going well.
The Mi Su also uses the delivery service Lieferando, from which orders come in as well.
