On February 4 this year, Mr. Zeng, a 43-year-old baker, was working alone in a bakery in Kai Tak 1 in the early morning. He suddenly fainted on the ground. He was still holding a tomato juice bottle in his hand. There was still a bottle in the oven. The bread is waiting to be out... Until the next colleague went to work to inspect the kitchen before calling the police for help, but Mr. Zeng died suddenly.

Mr. Zeng died suddenly, leaving his wife, daughter and elderly mother helpless.

Unexpectedly, the 45-year-old widow, who had done a funeral for her husband, discovered that she was suffering from HER2 breast cancer.

In more than a month, she suffered a lot of changes, such as losing her husband and suffering from cancer.

The doctor told Mrs. Zeng to receive treatment as soon as possible, otherwise the cancer cells may spread. However, the treatment of malignant diseases costs a lot. The first phase of the target drug requires about 520,000 yuan in total for 6 injections.

Mrs. Zeng’s family is only a basic-level public housing tenant and only raised the cost of the first injection in a panic, so he hopes that outsiders can help. Mrs. Zeng said: "The most worried thing is that the doctor will not be there. The woman is left unattended. I don’t want to go and leave all of them (daughter and grandma) unattended.”

Mrs. Zeng lives in a public housing with a family of three with her husband and daughter. The couple work outside the home, hiking with their daughter and making bread in their free time, enjoying the family happiness, life is no different from ordinary grassroots families.

On February 4 this year, Mr. Zeng died suddenly while working in a bakery, which dealt a heavy blow to the family.

Mrs. Zeng said that her husband had only worked in the bakery for more than three months before his death, with a monthly salary of about 23,000 yuan. He returned to Korea at 5 a.m. and 3 a.m. for about 10 hours. He would get up and go out at 3 a.m. every day, sometimes working until 6 in the evening. Work has not yet closed at about the time.

Overtime work in the first two months of employment is particularly serious, and it is also extremely difficult to ask for leave. The husband has to find a substitute worker before he can take leave. He has tried to work for more than ten days.

It wasn't until the third month that the situation improved, and one day off at the end of the week.

Zeng Tai pointed out that after her husband returned to work, he often complained, "It has been hard and unsatisfactory, and I haven't tried a happy day after returning to work." However, the salary of the new job is relatively good, so the husband continues to insist that "(manpower) may be more. Two thousand to two thousand, I want to live a good housing business."

Mr. Zeng started work in the shop at 5 in the morning, and he should be the only one working alone.

Mr. Zeng’s mother pointed out that the job was heavy. "A few people find it hard to find a substitute."

On the day of the incident, Mr. Zeng made bread alone in the kitchen as usual. Until 5:50 in the morning, when a colleague went to the kitchen to fetch bread at work, he found that Mr. Zeng was lying on the ground unconscious.

He was still holding the tomato sauce bottle in his hand, the cheese was scattered all over the floor, and there was still a tray of baked bread in the oven.

Mother Zeng cried: "If there were people in the kitchen at the time, she wouldn't die (faint) and nobody knew it."

Zeng Tai pointed out that her husband was found to have hypertension and diabetes at the end of 2018, and was scheduled to receive specialist diagnosis in a public hospital for almost three years. He was originally scheduled to see a specialist in June this year.

In the past 3 years, Zeng Sheng has been to private clinics for treatment, taking blood sugar and blood pressure lowering drugs regularly, and checking related indexes.

Mrs. Zeng described that although her husband has a long-term illness, he does not suffer from breathlessness while hiking. He also went to a private clinic for follow-up treatment on December 20 last year. Before the incident, his body was not abnormal. Therefore, he was very surprised that her husband died suddenly at the company. .

However, there was no CCTV installed at the scene of the incident, and Zeng Tai was still unable to learn the truth of her husband's sudden death.

As the cause of death on Mr. Zeng's death certificate was "complications of diabetes and hypertension", this incident was initially classified as "sudden death during work". It was not listed as a work-related injury and the family members could not receive any work-related injury compensation or funeral expenses.

The bakery also did not issue any gratuity, and only gave Mrs. Zeng's "finished food".

However, the Labour Department contacted Mrs. Tsang afterwards and followed up on the incident.

After the loss of her husband, Mrs. Tseng went all around for the funeral. At the end of March 6, he handled her husband’s funeral. During this period, she went to the hospital for medical treatment due to illness. She was confirmed to have HER2 breast cancer on March 11. The evil is easy to spread, so you need to receive treatment as soon as possible.” In more than a month, Zeng too frankly said that it was difficult to digest after the widowed husband, cancer, etc. The mood of her 14-year-old daughter also changed, which made Zeng too worried, she pointed out. "(Daughter) The shower heard him yelling constantly, and he didn’t yell to his family, so she was shocked and buried." Zeng's mother also cried, "It’s a thunderbolt in the blue, a boy walks, and a new hug. Huh (breast cancer), it's so desolate.

At this stage, Mrs. Zeng is most worried about not being able to afford the cost of cancer treatment. She pointed out that six targeted drug injections are required for the initial course of treatment. If the tumor shrinks, surgery may be considered.

However, the cost of the first target drug needle is 120,000 yuan, and the next 5 needles cost 80,000 yuan each, that is, the initial expenditure needs at least 520,000 yuan.

Even if the operation is successful, Mrs. Zeng will continue to receive targeted drugs and electrotherapy, one injection every three weeks (50,000 yuan per shot) for a period of one year.

Mrs. Zeng is currently a clerk with a monthly income of about 14,000 yuan. She has no medical insurance. She has to take care of her daughter, grandmother and father in her hometown on weekdays. She does not save much. For her, hundreds of thousands of medical expenses are astronomical.

She hoped that the outside world would be able to help, and said frankly: "The most worried thing is that the doctor is not available. There is no one left to take care of my daughter. I have a grandma to take care of. There is a father living alone in my country to take care of, and my family will last for me. I don’t want to go there because I don’t care about all of them.”

A spokesman for the Labour Department said that after learning of the accident, it had sent personnel to the scene to conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. The investigation is still ongoing.
