On August 7th of the previous year, demonstrators surrounded the Sham Shui Po Police Station. There was a confrontation between police and civilians. A man in black hit the police officer with marbles. Sha Tin District Council Vice Chairman Huang Xueli patted him on the back and shouted "Go!" The body blocked the police officer from pursuing the "pinball man", causing him to escape.

Huang denied obstructing the situation and the case was judged in West Kowloon today (29th).

Magistrate Liu Shuxian thought that Huang only knew that a large number of police officers were chasing them behind, and that there was a chance that they just happened to hinder the police officers from going, so he ruled that Huang was not guilty.

The defendant Huang Xueli (27 years old) was charged with obstructing a police officer who was properly performing his duties.

The charge is that he deliberately obstructed Police Constable A who was performing his duties on August 7, 2019 outside the Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices on Cheung Sha Wan Road, Sham Shui Po.

The police accused the defendant of slapped the marbles and walked away

The prosecution said that at about one o'clock in the morning, the police set up a cordon at the junction of Cheung Sha Wan Road and Yen Chow Street. A man in black armed with a cock fired marbles at the police officer, hitting the chest of a chief inspector inside the cordon.

When Police Constable A pursued the "Pinball Man", the defendant slapped him on the back and shouted "Go", and physically blocked the police officer from pursuing the "Pinball Man" and made him escape.

Witnesses have no details

Magistrate Liu Shuxian stated that she was wearing a light blue shirt as the defendant in the ruling. She quoted Police Constable A as confessing that he was deliberately obstructing.

The police officer described the defendant as occupying his route to pursue the suspect, but the police witness did not write in the notebook that the defendant held up his elbow and slowed down.

The magistrate also pointed out that no "pinball man" was seen in the video, and the police officers could not confirm the identity of the person in the film.

Or coincidentally obstructing the police’s path

The magistrate said that even if the "pinball man" looked back at the police when he fled, he would not know that the police officers planned to pursue him.

There were about a hundred people in black behind the "pinball man". The defendant only knew that a large number of police officers were chasing them behind. The magistrate believed that he had the opportunity to just happen to hinder the police officers from going, and ruled that the defendant was not guilty.
