A 80-year-old Rahat resident was arrested last night (Monday) on suspicion of running over three girls while traveling in the city and fleeing.

Yesterday afternoon, a report was received of a car accident in the 7 neighborhood in Rahat.
According to medical sources, three girls aged 15-14 were lightly injured and evacuated to Soroka Hospital.
Police arrived at the scene and an investigation was opened by a road accident investigator from the Negev region.
The interrogation revealed that the three girls crossed a crosswalk when a vehicle hit them.
It further became clear that after the driver stopped and got off towards them, he returned to his vehicle and continued driving.
The driver was later arrested following the activities of detective police and investigators from the Rahat station.
The suspect was then transferred for questioning by the Negev Regional Examining Unit.
