Nuremberg is taking another step in the direction of networked mobility.

The NürnbergMOBIL app has successfully passed its beta test phase.

The official start is planned for summer 2021.

Nuremberg

- On Monday (March 29), VAG Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft Nürnberg announced in a press release that the beta test for the developed app NürnbergMOBIL had been successfully completed.

82 percent of the participants stated that they would download the application immediately and continue to use it.

In addition to the already known functions such as departure monitor or connection information, NürnbergMOBIL also offers a messenger service with information about faults, events and news as well as a feedback function.

This enables direct contact with users in Nuremberg *.

Anyone who has installed the app can subscribe to information on specific lines or buy a ticket quickly and easily.

Multimodal services complete the offer: VAG bike and a taxi call are already integrated into the app, other mobility providers and digital services will follow.

Nuremberg: The functions of the NürnbergMOBIL app are convincing

The 170 test subjects gave a lot of constructive feedback during the twelve-day test phase.

The line information with integrated traffic lights and the option of subscribing to push notifications for a period of time that can be individually determined were particularly convincing.

The testers also praised the quick and easy registration, as well as the quick purchase button for tickets.

The developers also had their first positive experiences with the integrated voucher module, the message goes on to say.

As a small thank you, the test subjects received various vouchers that could be redeemed without any problems.

Options for individual configuration for connection information were still missing.

These functions are gradually being incorporated.

Nuremberg: Users are significantly involved in the further development of the VAG app

"The new app is an agile, growing product that will constantly improve," emphasizes Tobias Zuber, communications manager for digital media at VAG.

“Feedback from users is very important to us, even after the test phase.

We want to develop the app together with you. "

Until the official start of the NürnbergMOBIL app in summer 2021, the developers still have a lot to do to incorporate the feedback received.

After all, with the new app, VAG wants to offer users easier access to a large number of mobility services and, with the voucher module, provide incentives for more intensive use of local public transport.

Because the key to solving Nuremberg's * traffic problems lies in switching from private cars to shared public transport, including smart connections.

Nuremberg: VAG app is funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport

For the development of the app, VAG received funding from the “Clean Air” funding program of the Federal Ministry of Transport.

It is being developed together with the VAG Mobil working group, which was founded especially for this purpose and consists of the companies GeoMobile GmbH and NAS Smart Platforms GmbH, which was awarded the contract after an EU-wide tender.
