The Kripo Erding in Freising seized dozens of kilos of narcotics.

Two suspects are already in custody, a third is being searched nationwide.

Erding / Freising - It is the greatest success of the drug hunters of the Kripo Erding for years: In Freising they seized dozens of kilograms of very different drugs.

The location: two apartments in the large student residence on Giggenhauser Strasse.

They were uninhabited and probably only served as a bunker for drugs.

Two suspects are in custody, and a third party has been sought nationwide since Monday.

The investigation file reads like a crime thriller.

Commissioner 4 (Narcotics and Organized Crime) has set up a six-person investigation team called “Keys”.

The black market value of the drugs is likely to be 200,000 euros.

In a press conference on Monday, the head of the commissariat Josef Vogl (56) reported on the spectacular success that began with an Asian who had a good nose.

The student, who lives in the huge residential complex, called the Freising police on the evening of March 11th.

From an apartment there has been a noticeable smell of marijuana for a week.

Two drug clerks drove there and did - nothing at first.

They waited.

"You behaved in an exemplary manner", praises Vogl, because a little later a 35-year-old German came and entered the apartment.

He is actually registered at a different address, again in the cathedral city.

The officers followed the student.

And couldn't believe their eyes.

The drug lay open, in bags and bags in the apartment - in huge quantities.

Vogl reports 6.6 kilos of amphetamines, 1.6 kilos of marijuana, 700 grams of hashish, 150 grams of cocaine, 100 grams of powder to make ectasy pills, 350 LSD trips, almost 300 ectasy pills, 1.6 grams and heroin 100 ampoules with the finest, 96 percent liquid THC that is consumed in e-cigarettes.

There was also more than 2,400 euros in cash in the apartment, money that was likely to come from drug trafficking.

It was a case for the Erdinger Kripo.

While the nightly investigations were ongoing, Vogl continues, a second man came along, a 29-year-old from Freising.

When he noticed the operation, he wanted to run away.

But the police stopped him - and promptly found 30 grams of pure cocaine in his apartment.

It is a 29 year old horticultural trainee.

“It was now a matter of connecting him to the first bunker apartment,” says the inspector.

But the keys found on the young man did not match the booth.

But after a long search for a second one in the same complex.

Here is the same picture: It too was probably only rented as a drug transshipment point.

"Nobody lived there either, both were as good as unfurnished." According to Vogl, both leases were only signed this year.

In this shelter, the investigators confiscated 21.9 kilos of marijuana, 300 grams of cocaine, 1.1 kilos of powder for ectasy pills, 50 grams of cocaine, 200 ectasy pills and a further 700 ampoules of liquid THC.

Four knives and a stun gun also landed in the evidence chamber.

A judge issued arrest warrants for both men the next day.

You have been in custody since then.

The trainee's two brothers were now targeted.

One of them, according to Vogl, has nothing to do with the booming drug trade.

But a second, a 27-year-old German-Dutchman.

He's on the run.

On Monday, a judge ordered the nationwide manhunt.

It's about Philip Jan May. He is six feet tall, has blonde hair and blue eyes.

He could be in the Munich area - his parents' house is in Ismaning, where he is also registered - in Freising, but also in Hamburg.

Drug trafficking and use are increasing

The key investigation team continues to work at full speed.

The suspects are still silent.

Only the 29-year-old admitted possession of the drugs that had been seized in his “real” apartment.

Now the customers are targeted.

"We suspect that there was also online dealings, possibly via the Darknet," says Vogl.

The perpetrators face several years' imprisonment.

Overall, drug trafficking and use are increasing.

Vogl sums up, “that we will be able to show a double-digit percentage increase in seizures in 2020, and that at the already relatively high level of 2019. Above all, cannabis and amphetamines are being traded and consumed intensively.

This is also due to the relatively low price of ten to 15 euros per gram.
