The corona period in the mirror of closures was a stressful time for everyone, but was especially devastating for the couple.

In many families both spouses do not work, or are required to work from home and hardly leave, and should try to focus on work while caring for children who are often also at home.

This family pressure cooker has become the most common reason for couples getting divorced in recent months.

Couples, who got along with each other for many years and overcame crises and difficulties, suddenly found it difficult to survive the corona period, which led to a sharp increase in the number of divorce cases in court.

Despite all the difficulties, it is important to remember that the closure period does not reflect the daily life of the couple.

Therefore, before taking drastic steps and embarking on a long, costly and especially painful divorce process for both spouses and their children, you should consider exploring other options that might save the relationship.

The alternative is in a mediation process with lawyers who are skilled in this, and similar to couple counseling.

In the following lines we would like to present some examples of spouses who got into a conflict, but thanks to mediation performed in our office, were able not only to restore the connection between them, but also to save a lot of resources and earn the relationship back.

Example 1: Returning the mother to work saved the relationship

A case that affected spouses in their fifties.

Before the Corona crisis, the father ran a line of food deliveries on a truck, and the mother remained at home.

With the outbreak of the crisis, the father's income was significantly damaged, as some of the shipments were canceled.

As a result, the father began to feel resentful towards the mother.

The father feels that all the responsibility is on his shoulders and his wife does not help him and does not take part in the joint effort but only wastes the family money.

Against this background, the father came to our offices and asked to start a divorce proceeding against his wife.

Before taking action, mediation was conducted between the parties to try to find a solution.

In mediation, the parties understood the dire consequences of initiating divorce proceedings.

The husband's feelings about his wife's lack of contribution were clearly and sensitively reflected in her and as a result the wife found a job, which made her husband appreciate her more, and made her feel more meaningful and wanted.

The mediation process, in which the lawyers played a sensitive role, meant that all the reasons for the outbreak of the dispute between the couple disappeared.

The quiet returned to their home, and they decided not to initiate divorce proceedings.

Example 2: The woman prevented an economic crash from the father

Another case concerned spouses in their thirties who had been divorced for several years.

There was good communication between the two, but the Corona crisis devoured the cards.

The father, who was self-employed, was forced to close his business, while the wife began working as an accountant and earning decent salaries.

Under the divorce agreement between the two, the father was required to pay his ex-wife NIS 3,500 for their two children and bear the ownership of the section.

However, the closure of his business meant that he could not even afford to pay his rent.

As a result, enforcement cases were opened against him and he collapsed financially.

At first, the mother did not agree to waive her alimony payment, but later, following a mediation between the parties, the mother agreed to reduce the alimony payment by NIS 2,500 per month for two years, to allow the father to stand on his own two feet.

He agreed to pay NIS 4,000 instead of NIS 3,500 later when he recovered.

The creative arrangement allowed the father economic breathing space during the Corona period, and managed to save the bond between the divorced couple, who are considerate of each other and manage to maintain a normal relationship for their children.

Example 3: The mother received information and a safety net and began to trust her husband

Know that the corona period has created a pressure cooker and does not represent your real daily life.

This is certainly not the time to make fateful decisions about your marital future

Another case concerned wealthy spouses in their sixties. Owner of many businesses, companies and real estate, he did not bother to extend them to his wife. The woman felt that her husband keeps her and compartmentalize it, but he did not realize that his wife needs him security and attention and to feel part of the assets belong to her.

First there was an investigation in the case of the husband revealed At this stage, the woman received all the information about the couple's assets, which contributed to her feeling more secure. In addition, the woman was given explanations by the firm's experts what a corporation is, the meaning of holding shares in companies and the commercial real estate that also belongs. La as part of their life together.

After the interrogation, a mediation procedure was conducted between the couple, following which an extraordinary financial agreement was signed between them (usually a financial agreement was signed before the marriage, and not during them). Under the agreement, all the couple's assets were listed, and the husband agreed to give his wife sensitive codes for safes and register one of the companies in his possession in her name.

The mediation process and the financial agreement signed following it gave the woman a sense of security that she was not alone, and she subsequently started her own business. In that case, the couple could easily have resorted to a painful divorce proceeding, but following the trust-building steps between them, they returned to live together in the same house, and live together.

In summary, the examples below illustrate the alternatives facing spouses who find themselves in a corona-era conflict and are considering divorce. If you are in a similar situation, here are some tips -

first, know that the corona period has created a pressure cooker and does not represent your real daily life. This is certainly not the time to make fateful decisions about your marital future.

Second, understand that a reckless decision to open a divorce case could block the relationship between you. Therefore, it is better that you first consult a lawyer and consider conducting a mediation procedure.

Third, if you have finished saying divorce - know that this is not an easy process, as a result of which you will pay a mental price and the children will be harmed. Try to get into the process with the intention of reaching an agreement with the other party. Understand the importance of concessions and compromises in a divorce proceeding that will save you money and time.

Fourth, if you have chosen a divorce proceeding, know that the proceeding may involve engaging in a variety of other areas, such as execution, real estate, corporations, etc. Therefore, choose a law firm that can provide you with a complete envelope, and accompany you in all relevant areas, House Transfer Committee.
