The signature list, including company stamps, which arrived at the town hall of Oberammergau's mayor, comprises several pages.

The plan to displace the coaches from the center is causing the business people a lot of pain.
"That is the worst that can happen to us," says Katharina Graf from Schuhhaus Wolf.
She is not alone with this opinion.
That shows the long list.
40 affected people signed them.
Franziska Wittmann knows the number exactly.
The owner of "Die Schatulle" and her souvenir shop colleague Gabriele Furtner initiated the campaign and collected the signatures.
Even restaurateurs and hoteliers joined.
And there would have been more names, says Wittmann.
Only because of the closings she couldn't reach everyone.
Fear: coaches change their route
For all of them one thing is certain: The plan of the congregation is damaging them.

So far, the coaches have been able to park at the Passion Play Theater.
In the future, they should stop at Eugen-Papst-Straße and say goodbye to the guests there and pick them up again later.
In the meantime, the driver can head for the fixed parking lot and wait there for a fee.
Only the most relevant factor was forgotten, emphasizes Graf.
80 to 100 percent of the retailers live from international tourism.
Especially from buses that make a stopover in Oberammergau on their exploration tour with Linderhof Castle and Neuschwanstein.
While the usually older visitors go to the toilets directly at the Passion Play Theater up to now, in the future it would take a few minutes to walk there.
Strolling and shopping is correspondingly shorter.
As a consequence, it means: "We can no longer count on a large part of the purchasing power."
Those affected doubt whether the bus companies will accept the difficult journey in the long term.
“You might go to Oberammergau two or three times, but then you decide in favor of Ettal or something,” believes Wittmann.
“That would be fatal for us.” Business people need tourists.
Because of Corona more than ever.
“We're all on the ground anyway,” emphasizes the casket boss.

The souvenir shops or stores like Käthe Wohlfahrt would suffer tremendously.
You earn primarily from visitors from all over the world.
"These are very important customers," explains Wittmann.
They buy beer mugs, cuckoo clocks or souvenirs from the castles, which are cheaper in Oberammergau than at the sights themselves. Their clear appeal: "We shouldn't drive the guests away."
Meeting with the mayor
Rödl takes the criticism seriously.
Reacted, arranged a meeting with ten representatives.

“We don't want to work against people, we actually want to work for them,” explains the mayor.

The retailers meet with the mayor for their own preliminary meeting before the appointment.
