A New York judge sentenced Juan Antonio Hernández, brother of Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, to life imprisonment.
The judgment orders that 180.5 million dollars of his assets be confiscated as a result of his illicit drug trafficking activities.
Hours before the sentence was known, Juan Orlando Hernández wrote on his Twitter account that "the news expected from New York will be painful."
Then he added: "And what else can be said about a trial in which the testimony of the prosecutors' main 'cooperator' is now exposed by the DEA's own secret recordings as a lie?"
For the whole family, the news expected from New York will be painful.
