The qualification review committee will be able to screen the chief executive and the qualifications of candidates for election to the Legislative Council. Leung Chun-ying pointed out that the members of the committee must first have no identity conflicts and be equal.

He said that in the past Hong Kong Legislative Council elections were also subject to qualification review, which was carried out by the Returning Officer. Now all elections in Hong Kong are reviewed by the Qualifications Committee, which can make the standards more consistent, unlike the previous elections of the Returning Officers in different constituencies. Case.

The qualification review committee will have a "convenor" mechanism. Leung Chun-ying said that the details are not yet known, but if he can do it, he is "willing to serve the country for Hong Kong."
