The football community in the Freising district mourns Michael Rosenwirth.

The FC Moosburg coach died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 36.

Moosburg / Attaching

- There is dismay and sadness among the footballers of FC Moosburg and BC Attaching.

The coach of the Moosburger Kreisliga team and long-time BCA player, Michael Rosenwirth, died unexpectedly on Sunday night.

Born in April 1984 in Freising-Lerchenfeld, the project manager in the automotive industry was only 36 years old.

The stunned FCM knew no bounds when sports director Philipp Reiter personally brought the sad news to the players on Sunday.

Last week, on Tuesday, a dynamic “Rosee”, who was always in a good mood, led the virtual training for the bottom of the table in the district league.

"The whole association is deeply affected and needs time to process this terrible news", says FCM chairman Robert Heilmaier.

"Our thoughts and our sympathy are with Michael Rosenwirth's partner and family."

The news of the 36-year-old's death also caused deep sadness among those responsible and footballers at BC Attaching, where the midfielder spent most of his footballing career at home.

BCA department head Siegfried Brunnhuber still remembers his beginnings in the E-youth and the development into a dangerous midfield engine in the first team of attachers.

As a playmaker in 2010, Rosenwirth played a key role in the BCA's rise to the regional league.

After relegation in 2011, the then 27-year-old moved to SpVgg Landshut in the Landesliga Mitte, where he was described by club vice-president Hans Wernthaler as "an incredibly talented player who will be an absolute asset to our midfield".

The functionary was absolutely right, because Rosenwirth was a mainstay in the Landshut Landesliga championship team from 2012 with 16 hits in 34 games.

Michael Rosenwirth was extremely popular with his players and teammates

For professional reasons, the playmaker left the SVL half a season later and returned to his hometown club BC Attaching.

There he took over the coaching position for three years in 2015, before he was signed by FC Moosburg after a creative break in early 2020.

There, FCM sports director Philipp Reiter said after a year of cooperation: "In my opinion, we made the biggest catch when we were able to win such a capable man for our coaching office last winter."

Michael Rosenwirth was also extremely popular with his players and teammates.

Many admired his physical fitness, for which he had laid the basis for many years with a healthy diet.

With him, an outstanding sportsman leaves the pitch far too early and leaves the football community in shock and deep sadness.
