Tens of thousands of Israelis lived on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, with some of the beaches closed due to congestion, including Sycamore Beach and Lebanon.

"It's wonderful to see the quiet beaches again, filled with vacationers who enjoy excellent weather, birds chirping, the sound of the waves, spaces, clean air and a full Sea of Galilee. All the people of Israel deserve a relaxing vacation, just please keep it clean. If everyone leaves a clean beach behind, "said Dana Bachar of the Kinneret Cities Association.
