An apartment on Alte Poststrasse in Neustift became uninhabitable on Tuesday due to a fire.
The residents were unharmed.
Use on the upper floor
The fire broke out shortly before 7 a.m.
Just seven minutes after the alarm was raised at 6.45 a.m., the first units of the Freising fire brigade arrived at the location in Neustift.
Since everyone had already left the house, the fire-fighting team was able to start fighting the fire immediately, wearing respiratory protection - with success.
The fire was discovered and extinguished in the kitchen on the upper floor while it was still in progress.
Badly damaged apartment
A mobile smoke trap installed in front of the fire brigade prevented smoke from spreading into the stairwell, but the apartment itself was already thick with smoke at this point.
The fire brigade removed the smoke from the house with an electric fan.
The apartment was nevertheless badly damaged and is uninhabitable.
The possible cause is a technical defect in an electrical device.
After an hour, the 21 firefighters who had rushed into action with five vehicles were able to move away again.
Accommodation secured
Suitable accommodation was found for the affected family, at least at short notice: the owner of the neighboring hotel made a guest room available without further ado.
