Small but mighty: The Jarzt-Appercha fire brigade is small, but very strong.
The most recent service meeting proved that.

- So that the volunteer fire brigade Jarzt-Appercha does not become leaderless, the municipality of Fahrenzhausen recently invited the active firefighters to the school auditorium for a service meeting.
There, the still incumbent First Commandant Boris Koch welcomed the Vice-Mayor Andreas Karl, the fire department employee of the community, Christian Tips, District Fire Chief Manfred Danner, District Fire Supervisor Michael Hinterholzer, District Fire Inspector Helmut Schmid, First Commandant of Weng, Bernhard Eicher, and the 25 firefighters and men.
Given the occasion, it was not possible to hold an annual general meeting where the elections would otherwise be held.
From cellar fires to traffic accidents
First commandant Boris Koch reported that the Jarzt-Appercha fire brigade had to deal with twelve missions in the past year.
The 30 active participants completed a total of 1080 hours.
The average alarm strength in 2020 was eleven personnel per mission, which deployed within four minutes.
And the range of operations was extensive: for example, the fire fighters went out to a cellar fire, a fire in an open area, because of smoke development in the forest or a fallen tree on the roadway.
They were also called to secure buildings after a storm, to save small animals at the Rotteger Weiher or to help in a traffic accident with a trapped person.

Of course, the corona pandemic also affected the work of the fire brigade: In the past year, only seven exercises were held, one of which took place together with members of the FFW Fahrenzhausen.
The fire on an agricultural property in Appercha was simulated, for which a long stretch of hose had to be built.
Commander Koch praised the fact that comrades Mario Koch and Tobias Glanz each successfully invested 100 hours in modular training in 2020.
Before the new election, the commander thanked his comrades for the past six years with a brief review of his previous time as commander: since then, a total of 58 missions had to be dealt with.
Compared to some large fire brigades, that is not much.
But the Jarzt-Appercha Wehr would cope with more and more regional missions, for example in the communities of Haimhausen, Kranzberg or Hohenkammer.
In addition, they were also involved in the disaster response in Surberg in the Traunstein district.
As Koch emphasized, it is important in this context that the firefighters are properly trained and always ready for action.
The volunteer fire brigade Jarzt Appercha can always support other fighters with the most important thing they have: with “man power”.
Special respect for youth work
This was followed by new elections for the first and second commanders under the supervision of Andreas Karl, Christian Tipp and Bernhard Eicher.
Active members aged 16 and over were entitled to vote.
Boris Koch was re-elected First Commandant with 24 votes and one abstention.
Günther Schuhmann remains his deputy.
Fahrenzhausen's Vice-Mayor Andreas Karl as well as District Fire Chief Manfred Danner and District Fire Chief Michael Hinterholzer thanked the commanders for the good cooperation in the past.
They paid particular respect to youth work.
District fire chief Manfred Danner praised the women and men: When it comes to the strength of their operations, many other fighters could "cut a slice".
