This price increase, announced by the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, will be 7.5% on average for public and private non-profit hospitals and 6.4% for private for-profit clinics.

At the end of discussions, which, every year, set the prices of health establishments, Olivier Véran announced an unprecedented increase of 8 billion euros for 2021, bringing the allocated resources to 92.9 billion euros.

The rate increase will be 7.5% on average for public and private not-for-profit hospitals and 6.4% for private for-profit clinics.

This substantial increase is in addition to the “Ségur de la santé” measures.

The ministry also gives, as it was committed, visibility to the establishments over several years.

On average, accommodation rates will increase until 2022 by at least 0.2% in medicine, surgery and obstetrics (MCO) and 1.5% in home hospitalization (HAD) in order to support its development.

In addition, for 2021, resources will increase by 2% in follow-up care and rehabilitation (SRH) and by 2.2% in psychiatry,

"a major development to support the transformation of these sectors",

indicates the ministry.

Due to the continuing health crisis, the Minister also announced the extension, over the first half of the year, of the funding guarantee put in place in 2020.

“In 2020, faced with an unprecedented epidemic crisis, our social security has supported the hospital to enable it to take care of our fellow citizens.

We are renewing this support in 2021, ”

said Olivier Véran.

In addition, exceptional credits are planned to finance exceptional expenditure of establishments, such as screening and vaccination as well as the purchase of medical equipment to strengthen resuscitation capacities.
