The musician, Wissam Al-Shaer, revived a musical evening by the accordion solo instrument, accompanied by the Qasid troupe, on the stage of the drama theater at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts.
The evening, which was led by Maestro Kamal Skeiker, who worked to distribute all its works, was distinguished by its diversity in Arab Tarabi and folkloric "foreign - Russian and Balkan".
The poet presented with the band the pieces “Boktflak Bas” by the two brothers Rahbani and “Ali Jari” by Helmy Bakr, “Give me the flute and sing” by Najib Hanak and “My Feeling for You” by Sayed Makkawi.
In the second part of the evening the poet performed solo for the piece “Waltz” from Russian folklore. The group also performed “The First Time” for Mounir Murad, “Sahar After Sahar” and “On a Day and a Night” by Muhammad Abdel Wahab to conclude the evening by presenting the Balkan dance.
It is noteworthy that the poet holds a bachelor’s degree in music, specializing in accordion, from the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus. He also obtained a degree in musical education, specializing in operatic singing and piano from the Faculty of Musical Education at Al-Baath University. Solo has also played and recorded several times with the first Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, and he has been a teacher at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus since 2013.
