Was there a secret wedding or not?
After the confusion about the actual date of Meghan and Harry's marriage, the Archbishop of Canterbury himself is now speaking.
London - The world held its breath as Meghan Markle entered St. George's Chapel.
In a dream in white she was floating down the aisle of the church to the altar, behind her the meter-long veil billowed.
In front of hundreds of guests and countless television viewers: Inside, Prince Harry and the American said yes on May 19, 2018.
At least that was what people thought until recently, because Meghan announced in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that the actual wedding had already taken place days before.
Since then there has been confusion.
Now the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who married the two, brings light into the darkness.
Meghan and Harry: was there a secret wedding in the garden?
It's one aspect of the big reveal interview that has created some confusion.
When Meghan and Harry spoke to the talk legend about the background to their withdrawal from the British royal family, the Duchess also reported on an intimate wedding before the gigantic wedding party.
Then there was confusion.
Because the marriage certificate of the two clearly shows Saturday, May 19, 2018 as the official date.
Still, Meghan said there had been a ceremony before.
Now speaks the person who - apart from the bride and groom themselves - knows best: Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury.
He had married the Sussexes in the Windsor Castle Chapel and is having a secret wedding in the garden across from the Italian daily
La Repubblica

"I signed a marriage certificate, which is a legal document, and I would have committed a grave misdemeanor if I had signed it knowing it was false," Welby explains.
But why should Meghan talk about a wedding in the garden?

Interview with the Archbishop of Canterbury: There were private meetings with the Sussexes
In fact, in the run-up to the wedding, there were probably several encounters between the bride and groom and the archbishop.
“I had several private and pastoral meetings with the Duke and Duchess before their wedding,” he admits.
As a priest, he did not want to reveal what happened at these meetings.
Even the Sussexes themselves had rowed back shortly after the interview.
A spokesman for the two said the prince couple had "privately exchanged personal vows a few days before their official / legal wedding on May 19th".
It is entirely possible that the Archbishop of Canterbury was present at this exchange.
However, this does not count as an official marriage.
Oprah interview from Meghan and Harry: The allegations are serious
Meghans and Harry's interview with US talk show queen Winfrey had made waves in the UK.
Meghan said, for example, during her first pregnancy there were “worries and conversations” about her unborn child in the royal family about “how dark his skin may be when he is born”.
In addition, the 39-year-old described that despite her thoughts of suicide because of the constant negative media coverage about her, a high-ranking palace representative had denied her the use of psychological help out of concern for the image of the royals.
Harry reported that he felt "abandoned" by his father, Charles.
