The Iranian ambassador to Belgium and the European Union, Gholam Hossein Dehghani, reaffirmed the need to end the crisis in Syria according to principles that respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Dehghani pointed out in a speech that the crisis in Syria continues in its tenth year, which bears the international community a great responsibility to move and help the Syrians solve it, warning against the West's revival of the terrorist organization "ISIS" again and the return of all terrorist and takfiri groups that have targeted Syria.
Dehghani stressed that imposing unilateral embargo measures contradicts international laws and would increase the suffering of the Syrian people in these circumstances, and said that it is the duty of all countries, far from their opportunistic interests, to provide the capabilities for the Syrian people to decide the future of their country away from any external interference.
Dehghani added that the safe return of the Syrian refugees while preserving their human dignity and without using them as a tool to achieve political interests is of great importance, pointing to the importance of contributing to and supporting the reconstruction of Syria.
Dehghani explained that Syria is now addressing the two disasters of the war and the spread of the Corona virus, and these conditions multiply the importance of reconstruction and the provision of humanitarian aid to the Syrian people.
