But traveling within Germany is also a difficult undertaking over Easter.
Easter holiday 2021 in Germany: are hotels and holiday apartments open?
In principle, you can travel anywhere, but you will not find accommodation anywhere.
Due to the corona pandemic, there is still a ban on accommodation.
That is why hotels and holiday apartments must remain closed for tourist purposes
.
A proposal from the coastal states - Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony - for a "low-contact vacation" in holiday homes, holiday apartments or in mobile homes could not prevail at the last Ministerial President's Conference (MPK).
Since the corona lockdown applies until April 18 *, the hotels will have to remain closed for at least that long.
Whether there is a prospect of opening up afterwards depends above all on the corona incidence in Germany and the respective federal states.
A confidential paper that was available to Business Insider in mid-February predicted an incidence of less than 20 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants before there could be any easing in the tourism sector.
However, it is difficult to predict whether this incidence will continue to point the way for future decisions.
The Federal Government's Tourism Commissioner Thomas Bareiß assumes at least that normal travel could be possible again from Whitsun.
Can I go camping on Easter 2021?
Although camping can be designed with relatively few contacts - as some federal states also argued at the last MPK - vacationing with a mobile home is also not possible at Easter.
Campsites and parking spaces are among the accommodation providers and must therefore not be open

Vacation in Germany: Can I go on a day trip at Easter?
Day trips are still possible within Germany.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that the federal and state governments appeal to citizens not only to refrain from traveling abroad, but also domestic.
So this also applies to day trips.
Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has
even completely banned entry from other federal states for tourist purposes

This means that a trip to the Baltic Sea is largely flat.
In addition, day trips to
corona hotspots may be
prohibited.
This means areas with a corona incidence above a value of 200.
In some federal states, the 15-kilometer radius of movement comes into play, according to which citizens are not allowed to move more than 15 kilometers from their place of residence.
This regulation was introduced in winter in view of the large number of day-trippers who made pilgrimages in ski regions.
Some federal states later adapted this measure for themselves.
Can I visit my family at Easter despite Corona?
A family visit at Easter is generally possible, although the contact restrictions must be observed: Currently, two households with a maximum of five people are allowed to meet.
Children up to 14 years are not counted.
Unlike at Christmas, however, there is no easing of contacts during the Easter holidays.
