Incidence chaos in the Munich district: emergency brake postponed - "It's nonsense"

The corona emergency brake has been postponed, although the seven-day incidence in the Munich district has been above the 100 mark since Tuesday.

The reason for this is hardly satisfactory.

District of Munich - The so-called emergency brake has been postponed.

The seven-day incidence has been above 100 since Tuesday. Actually, the district would have had far-reaching restrictions from Saturday.

Yesterday the incidence was suddenly given as 87 - due to a data record transfer error.

Despite the breakdown, the lockdown will probably not come until Monday.

Corona chaos in the Munich district: incorrect incidence data transmitted

In January, the district office made headlines for weeks due to a data breach.

Now there is a new mishap: Because incorrect data was transmitted to the State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL), the seven-day incidence fell from over 100 to 87.3 on Tuesday.

This is wrong.

According to our own calculation, the number is currently 106.14, said District Administrator Christoph Göbel (CSU) yesterday in an online press conference.

The number of the Robert Koch Institute is decisive for restrictions, and it is now officially below 100. That is why the so-called emergency brake is off the table at least this week.

It takes effect if the value is over 100 for three consecutive days.

Then the district office has to make the emergency brake known.

Corona in the district of Munich: Emergency brake applies from Monday at the earliest

The new rules (such as curfew, stricter contact restrictions, Click & Collect) will then apply the next day.

“It's bullshit,” said Goebel.

But there is nothing else to do.

Tomorrow the incidence should be correct again.

The district administrator is certain that the emergency brake will apply from Monday.

The number of infections is increasing.

As in old people's and care facilities.

There 18 residents tested positive for the corona virus, last week there were four people.

In fact, there are residents among the infected who already have full vaccination protection or who have previously been infected with the virus.

Also because of the re-infection of vaccinated and convalescent people, it makes sense "that vaccinated people continue to wear masks," said Göbel.

The good news: all residents who tested positive are asymptomatic.

Corona vaccinations: District of Munich expects 11,500 vaccination doses next week

So that the rest of the citizens in the district do not fall ill with the virus, vaccinations should be continued as soon as possible.

Prioritization group 2 has already started.

Next week, more than 11,500 vaccine doses are to be delivered to the district - more than ever before within a week.

Yesterday, in addition to the pilot practices, other general practitioners began vaccinating patients.

So far, 610 people have received vaccine in the practices.

This week every family doctor's practice is entitled to 20 vaccine doses, next week it should be 50.

Göbel appealed to all general practitioners to vaccinate patients in their practices: "The more general practitioners participate, the more vaccinations there are in the district."

Astrazeneca Vaccinations: Choices for People Under 60 Before Second Vaccination

When it comes to vaccinations, there is no vaccine choice for citizens who are entitled to vaccination, Göbel emphasized again.

Exception: people who have already received the first vaccination with the Astrazeneca substance and are under 60 years of age.

Before the second vaccination, those entitled have the following options: Astrazeneca, another vaccine or postpone the second vaccination.

Those under 60 years of age who are eligible for vaccination do not receive Astrazeneca vaccine.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our new, regular District Munich newsletter.
