Because of the level crossing, Oberschleißheim is already buffeted by the heavy traffic. But now that could get worse again. Because the important bypass option over the Mittenheimer Brücke will be closed for two years from April 6th due to renovation work.

Because of the level crossing, Oberschleißheim is already buffeted by the heavy traffic.

But now that could get worse again.

Because the important bypass option over the Mittenheimer Brücke will be closed for two years from April 6th due to renovation work.

Oberschleißheim

- In 1972 Oberschleißheim received a new S-Bahn stop north of the station built in 1858.

That is why Mittenheimer Strasse had to be bridged over the Munich-Landshut railway line.

That also meant the end of the gatekeeper house.

Now, almost 50 years later, the Mittenheimer Brücke has to be renovated for the first time.

From April 6th until probably mid-2023, the bridge over the railway tracks in Oberschleißheim will be renovated under full closure.

This will cut an important east-west connection and bypassing the railway barrier on the B 471 in Oberschleißheim.

At that time there was also the old gatekeeper's house.

For two years, motorized traffic in the east-west direction between Garching and Dachau will only be able to use the B471 with the barred level crossing.

The municipality advises to drive around the town extensively in a west-east direction during rush hour - via the A 99 or Unterschleißheim.

According to the plan, the construction work will last until August 25, 2023, with the winter months being partially exempt from construction work, depending on the progress of construction.

The MVV regional bus line 292 is divided into two lines at the S-Bahn station: Part line 1: “Oberschleißheim, Sonnenstraße” - “Oberschleißheim (S)”;

Part line 2: "Oberschleißheim (S)" - "Garching Research Center (U)".
