Nadia Calviño, current Minister of Economic Affairs of the Spanish coalition Government, will assume the second vice-presidency of the Spanish Government on Wednesday, while Yolanda Díaz, Minister of Labor, will become the third vice-presidency of the executive.

This was announced this Tuesday by the president of the coalition executive, Pedro Sánchez, as a result of the departure of Pablo Iglesias, who resigned on March 15 as the second vice-presidency of the Government to attend the elections of the Assembly of the Community of Madrid next May 4.

In this way, the four vice-presidencies of the Spanish Government will be occupied by women, a detail that the leader of the Iberian executive praised as it makes Spain "the sixth country in the world with the highest proportion of women in the Council of Ministers and Ministers, and the fourth among the EU countries ”, according to Sánchez.

In addition to the reconfiguration of the vice presidencies, Sánchez added that Ione Belarra would go on to lead the Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda, since it also remained vacant after the departure of Iglesias.
