The local chief now wants to react.

Au / Hallertau

- Since the main road in Au has been renovated, drivers have had to look for other ways to get from one end of the village to the other and into the center of the village.

Actually, the B 301 bypass is intended for the diversion.

Actually.

But car drivers are looking for other routes - especially on Richard-Straussstrasse and Hochfeldstrasse.

There, resentment grows among the residents.

The fact that many drivers do not stick to the prescribed 50 km / h on these streets, which are currently used by local people as shortcuts, is a particular annoyance.

A cat fell victim to the frenzy on Tuesday, and the sad owner appealed to Facebook to reduce the speed.

Many residents are wondering why the streets are not limited to 30 km / h on the main street during the construction phase, especially since there are also ways to school.

Speed restrictions are not that easy to set up

Mayor Hans Sailer, who is aware of the lawsuits and complaints, emphasizes that it is not so easy to put up a 30 sign, it needs a reason and a traffic law order.

It is true that such an arrangement could be enforced in the schools and kindergartens - i.e. on Hochfeldstrasse - but it would be difficult in other areas.

The fact that signs with the speed limit of as much as 20 km / h were set up at the Hopfenlandhalle on Hochfeldstrasse was more of an encouraging character.

According to Sailer, a violation of the appeals on these signs is not legally enforceable and, after inspections, can also be punished.

And it would be similar if one were to put up Tempo 30 signs in Richard-Strauss-Straße and in other streets currently used as bypasses and shortcuts.

The municipal traffic control then have no handle.

Measuring devices should analyze the situation

But Sailer does not simply want to accept the situation: In order to be able to fully assess the situation, they will now purchase two measuring devices with which one can see how many cars are really there and how fast they are actually driving.

Then we will see.

Sailer justifies the fact that no stopping signs have been put up with the fact that the fire brigade must have an unobstructed access via Richard-Strauss-Straße for a possible rescue operation in the middle of the village.

This arrangement cannot be lifted in order to slow down the traffic by parking cars.
