Occupied Jerusalem - SANA

Tomorrow marks the nineteenth anniversary of the massacre of Jenin, which the Israeli occupation forces carried out against the Palestinians in the Al-Madina camp, and it is nothing but a link in the extensive record of the massacres of the usurping entity that endear humanity to the right of defenseless Palestinians.

The massacre of Jenin camp in the West Bank, which was carried out by the occupation forces on April 1, 2002 and lasted for more than ten days after several attempts to storm it, is a series of "horrific massacres" that resulted in more than "500" Palestinian martyrs and wounding thousands to the point that all the cries of the Palestinians at that time It did not find its way to mobilize the human conscience to intervene to stop the massacre.

In an imitation of what is happening today from the international community's condescension and silence on the horrific crimes and brutal practices of the occupation entity against the Palestinians amid blatant bias from the Western colonial powers, led by the United States and Europe, the United Nations at that time sent investigation teams to the camp.

The envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General Terje Roed-Larsen described the camp at the time that it looked "as after an earthquake" and that the smell of corpses was everywhere, but despite this, the rogue entity challenged Security Council Resolution 1405, which called for sending a fact-finding team to investigate what happened in the camp by the occupation forces. And which undoubtedly amount to war crimes unlike humanity has not known in modern history, in a clear indication of international impotence in the face of the continuing occupation crimes against the Palestinian people.

Turning a blind eye to this horrific massacre by the countries of the world gave him the green light to reflect on his systematic crimes against the camp’s residents, which led to the displacement of hundreds of families and the removal of more than “500” homes after they prevented the media from entering the camp to document them.

Despite the ugliness of the massacres that the usurping occupier continues to commit against them, the Palestinians renew their struggle against it until it is defeated from the land of Palestine and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
