The concerns, concerns and demands of the industrialists in Hama, the means and mechanisms for the recovery of the industrial sector and its usual position in the locomotive of economic development. All these and other issues topped the annual general assembly meeting of the Hama Chamber of Industry, which was held under the title “A strong industry .. a strong economy”, on the runway of the Hama City Council.

Industrialists, in their interventions, demanded the amendment and development of laws that protect the industry, support for industrial establishments affected by terrorism, and compensation for the damages suffered by them, in addition to paying attention to services in the expansion of the first industrial zone of drinking water, electricity, infrastructure, and other things.

Industrialists also demanded the provision of fuel, especially for workers in building stone and marble quarries, and a review of the tax imposed on industrialists and the need to reduce electric rationing in the industrial zone.

In a statement to SANA's correspondent between the Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh that the government pays great attention to the industrial sector, especially in light of the current circumstances, as it is one of the main tributaries in support of the national economy and pushing and accelerating production in the public and private sectors, given that the outputs of this sector represent an alternative to their imported counterparts, thus contributing to Breaking the economic blockade and unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria.

The Minister of Industry indicated that the meeting focused on a number of issues that concern industrialists and contribute to overcoming the obstacles and challenges facing them in order to reach solutions regarding them, and said: The trends during the current period revolve around providing all aspects of support to agricultural and industrial production facilities according to the available capabilities and the investment of available materials.

He also stressed the importance of moving forward with the development of the industrial sector march in Hama by taking a number of measures and measures, foremost of which is the completion of the implementation of the expansion of the industrial zone in the city of Hama with the various infrastructure and service facilities necessary for the start of work in it during the coming period while continuing to support the industrialists and secure the requirements of their activity.

The Governor of Hama, Eng. Muhammad Tariq Kreshati, stressed during the meeting that no economic and production facility is exempt from subsidizing industrial diesel, pointing to the great burdens that the state bears in securing the needs of various sectors of oil derivatives, especially in light of the current circumstances.

Ziad Arabo, head of the Hama Chamber of Industry, confirmed that the Chamber seeks to increase the number of investors in the industrial sector and encourage them to expand existing facilities and establish new ones, noting that the Chamber’s Board of Directors is working to develop the services provided, especially in the areas of training and qualification and business development through the Training and Rehabilitation Center, which was inaugurated late Last year, as the first center of its kind in Syria, which offered various training courses in all industrial, scientific, technical, professional and other specialties.

The governorate of Hama occupies an important position on the industrial production map in Syria, as it owns dozens of industrial establishments operating in the food sector, such as the manufacture of oils, ghee, milk, and cheeses, and in the engineering sector such as assembling motorcycles, cutting and shaping marble, manufacturing metals, heaters and their accessories, and in the chemical sector such as detergents, medicines and shoes, in addition to the textile sector as an industry. Wool, cotton yarn, wool and clothing make Hama an important source of industrial production that feeds the various governorates.
