The stage of the Arab Cultural Center Theater in the city of Tartous hosted the shows "Dream" and "Pitfalls" as part of the activities of the first Saadallah and Nous Theater Festival held by the Directorate of Culture in the governorate.
Regarding the dream show dedicated to children, director Amal Al-Ali mentioned to SANA's correspondent that it is a critical social play in a national context to present different visions to face the difficulties surrounding us, indicating that the actors are from the category of adolescents between the ages of 14 and 18 in the matter of encouraging and motivating talents.
Young Ahmed Khalifa, the writer of the text, explained that the text deals with the problem of corruption in a comic manner in order to convey its message of the necessity of preserving the homeland through the efforts of its children, because whoever loses his homeland loses everything.
In turn, a number of participants, including Jaafar Ibrahim, Zainab Kuntar and Maysa Al-Abbas, found that embodying roles on stage requires strength, talent and continuous training, considering that the compatibility and harmony between actors and the director helps to achieve outstanding performance and the audience's response and interaction with the work.
As for the second show, "pitfalls", it was presented by the Watar Band, which is a satirical social comic action that, according to its director Hassan Ali, poses a set of issues such as the problem of graduates looking for a suitable job, problems of marriage and bribery, etc. In the theatrical work, it was written by Amir known, one of the band members
George Deeb, who plays the character of corruption, found that standing on the stage for the first time to embody a gesture character present in all scenes without saying anything, a new experience in which he benefited from the director's instructions and the cooperation of his colleagues to present it properly.
As for Nagham Nassif, who embodied the role of a university student seeking success in the university through illegal means, she saw that this type of personality exists in our society and that young people should be educated not to follow these methods and rely on effort and study as a basis for success and excellence.
Hala Al-Suleiman found that her presence in the band since its inception in 2017 enabled her to play different roles, but the presentation of pitfalls gave her the opportunity to play a new role represented in the authoritarian wife and the mother who is looking for a rich groom for her daughter regardless of his morals and her dependence on astrologers to know the future in order to shed light on existing negatives. In our surroundings.
A documentary film on the lives of late artists Ali and Mohsen Abbas was also shown within the festival.
