“Francis is a phenomenon.
Physically, he is a monster endowed with incredible strength and impressive explosiveness ”.
This is how Fernand Lopez, his former MMA Factory trainer in Paris, described Francis Ngannou to us in 2018. Since then, the whole world has been able to discover the raw power of the Cameroonian fighter trained in MMA in France.
Last Saturday, at the age of 34, he reached a first peak in his career by becoming UFC heavyweight champion to write one of the most beautiful chapters of his incredible saga (read his portrait here).
To win the belt, Ngannou took revenge on Stipe Miocic, who had beaten him three years earlier.
Considered the best heavyweight in the history of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), the American could not do anything this time against the lightning coming out of the fists of his impressive opponent (1.93m, 119 kg).
One need only take a look at the super slow-motion of the best moments of the fight posted on social media by the UFC to measure how much the blows delivered by Ngannou rocked the defending champion.
Brutal.
"The strength came naturally, without working it."
This Herculean force, Francis Ngannou had agreed to mention during an interview recently granted to
Le Figaro
, admitting to having "something more than a lot of people".
“The strength came naturally, without working it.
At 22, I had never done sports.
It's genetic.
My daddy was a bit like that even though he's smaller.
In the family, we have this reputation for having strength. ”
A gift from heaven that has allowed him to climb on the highest step in his discipline for a few days.
