2021-03-31T20:43:43.526Z

Frenchman Victor Perez, 4th in the World Match-Play Championship on Sunday in Texas, has recently taken several steps to the top of world golf, to the point of claiming a place in the European squad for the next Ryder Cup.

“The Ryder Cup is something that makes Europeans very proud and you obviously want to try to be a part of it.

But it's still a bit far, because none of the Grand Slam tournaments have yet been played, there are still so many points at stake ... ", estimated Perez last Saturday, on the eve of his semi-final lost against the future winner, the American Billy Horschel.

There is no doubt, however, that Padraig Harrington, the captain of the European team which will play the next edition, from September 24 to 26 in Wisconsin, was not insensitive to the brilliant course of the French number 1.

Even if the latter also gave in in the match for 3rd place against Matt Kuchar.

In Austin, his calm impressed, as much as his birdies / bogeys ratio, in this world summit where no French had shone since Victor Dubuisson, finalist in 2014.
