The step-grandmother who was accused of abusing her little siblings, the lawyer representing her in her closing statement stated that she was a loving and caring grandmother who had not abused her little siblings. Although both the testimony of boy X and stepmother and daughter Y alleged that the step-grandmother was involved in beating the child, the lawyer claimed that the child was sometimes unable to speak accurately.
All the lawyers have completed their submissions and the case is adjourned until next Wednesday (7th) for a renewal. The judge will begin to summarize the case to the jury.
The judge is expected to let the jury leave the court for discussion on the 12th of this month.

The third defendant in this case, the stepmother's mother, and the step-grandmother of the younger siblings X and Z involved, did not appear in court to defend herself, and her lawyer now makes the closing statement.

The defense stated that the father and stepmother (the first defendant in this case) of the younger siblings did not rely on the step-grandmother to take care of their children.
But after the grandmother was troubled by the loss of her mother when the case happened, she didn't care about what happened at home.
The testimony showed that the grandmother "reasonable" to the younger siblings also prevented her father from doing anything when X was beaten with a cane.

The defense also stated that following the grandmother's work, she did not return home until 9 o'clock in the evening and did not know what happened to the little brothers and sisters during the day.
As for the two charges of step-grandmother's use of torturing her little brother and sister, the defense accuser failed to prove that step-grandmother used a cane to beat Z.
In addition, X and stepsister Y (daughter born to her stepmother and her ex-husband) also had inconsistencies in their testimony.
The defense does not mean that X and Y are lying, but that children sometimes have their own understanding of things.
Three defendants: male defendant (30 years old, transport worker), the father of boy X and girl Z involved; female defendant (30 years old, housewife), the second wife of the male defendant, namely X and Z’s Stepmother; the third defendant (56 years old, accounting clerk), is the mother of the female defendant.
The male and female defendants were charged with one count of murder, alleging that they murdered Z on January 6, 2018.
In addition, the third defendant denied four counts of cruel treatment of children, accusing her of deliberately torturing and ignoring X and Z from August 10, 2017 to January 6, 2018.
X and Z were 8 and 5 years old at the time of the incident.
