The Afghan army carried out operations in separate areas of the country, killing 46 members of the armed Taliban.
Sputnik news agency quoted the Afghan Ministry of Defense as saying in a statement today that the air force carried out raids targeting the village of Gashma Qala in the Shmtal district of the northern state of Balkh, during which 18 Taliban members were killed and 10 others were wounded, adding that “security forces with the support of the air force carried out a military operation last night. In the Shah Anger district of southern Helmand province, 13 members of the movement were killed.
In a related context, the governor of Ghor Province in the center of the country announced the killing of 15 members of the movement in clashes with the Afghan security forces in the state.
It is noteworthy that Afghanistan suffers from frequent confrontations between Afghan forces and the Taliban, despite the parties entering into peace talks.
