On Tuesday evening at 9:30 p.m., however, the SMS came: The appointment has been canceled.
A few minutes later the redeeming news came - the reader could come on Wednesday and will be vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine.
"On Tuesday evening I canceled all Astrazeneca appointments that were planned for Wednesday and assigned new ones with the Moderna vaccine," reported the head of the vaccination center in Peißenberg, Christian Achmüller.
"That will probably fall on my feet by the end of the week, but otherwise the discussions would probably have become endless today."
Fewer vaccination appointments in the next few days
The vaccination appointments for the next few days have already been thinned out, he said.
Then there would be more time to explain the current situation to the visitors in peace.
But even Achmüller has no idea whether and how the vaccinations with Astrazeneca should continue in the vaccination center.
The official rules are one thing, but people are deeply insecure.
“The citizens feel ridiculed.
And so do I, ”said Achmüller.
The situation is "catastrophic.
At first it was said that Astrazeneca may only be vaccinated on people under 65.
Then came the vaccination freeze.
After that, it was released to everyone.
And now only everyone over 60 should be vaccinated with it.
Nobody can understand that, let alone explain it. "
Achmüller announced that - as of yesterday - from now on only the already scheduled second vaccinations with Astrazeneca will take place in the vaccination center.
Otherwise, the vaccine should only be administered via general practitioners in the future.
“The family doctor will also have to have discussions because people refuse vaccinations with Astrazeneca.
But he can lead these debates on a completely different level because he knows his patients and their medical histories. "
Frustration in the vaccination center is great
Achmüller made it clear: “It cannot go on as before.
We need a clear regulation that the population can understand. ”Yesterday, federal politicians had already given interviews again in which they announced procedures“ of which there is not a word to be read in the written resolutions available to us ”.
So the frustration and uncertainty is not only great in the population, but also in the vaccination center.
"The only good news is that only comparatively small amounts of Astrazeneca vaccine were announced in April," said Achmüller.
In return, significant quantities of the Biontech vaccine are announced for the coming week.
So it can continue to be vaccinated.
