Announcing the launch of the works of the Third International Conference on Digital Transformation in Damascus

The Minister of Communications and Technology, Eng. Iyad Al-Khatib, announced the launch of the activities of the Third International Conference on Digital Transformation on Friday, April 9th, at the Conference Palace in Damascus, with the participation of a number of economic and social activities from inside and outside Syria.

During a press conference entitled “Syria and Digital Transformation, Opportunities and Challenges” at the Four Seasons Hotel in Damascus, Minister Al-Khatib stated that digital transformation has become an inevitable necessity for all countries and that we are in Syria. The experiences of neighboring and Arab countries to drop these experiences on the Syrian experience, and we are working on preparing a national strategy for digital transformation.

Minister Al-Khatib pointed out that digital transformation is an urgent need for all Syrians, and it will be the first step in fighting corruption, and that one of the most important topics covered by digital transformation in any country is digital media, electronic banking, electronic payment, artificial intelligence, business intelligence, e-learning, e-commerce, software, cloud computing and information technology.

Minister Al-Khatib considered that the conference is an ideal platform for acquiring knowledge, highlighting the latest developments in technology, and benefiting from the experiences of other countries in implementing digital transformation in Syria, with the aim of encouraging investment in the sustainable development of the digital economy.

For his part, President of the Arab Federation for Electronic Trade, Dr. Muhammad Pharaon, referred to the date of the organization’s establishment and its role in electronic commerce, pointing out that based on consolidating the principles of joint Arab cooperation in the field of digital transformation, the international conference on digital transformation in its third session was approved on the land of the Syrian Arab Republic under the title “ Syria and Digital Transformation ... Opportunities and Challenges.

Pharaon pointed out that the International Conference on Digital Transformation is one of the main events in the Arab arena with regard to information technology and is a platform for discovering in-depth knowledge and exchanging experiences between countries by shedding light on one of the developments in technology and achieving communication between Arab countries in the fields of digital transformation.

Pharaoh pointed to the challenges facing societies in digital transformation and the possibility of the union in helping to solve the obstacles by presenting experiences, overcoming pitfalls and errors, and amending the roadmap. “.

In his turn, the director of the Arab Group for Exhibitions and Conferences, the organizer of the conference, Alaa Hilal, explained that the conference was well prepared and the participation of local, Arab and foreign bodies concerned with digital transformation in Syria was secured from independent academic researchers, investors, representatives of public and private agencies, non-governmental organizations and decision-makers.
