Easter is just around the corner.

The announced "Easter rest" was withdrawn by the government.

Which rules apply over the holidays in Nuremberg?

Nuremberg

- For two weeks now, the seven-day incidence * in the city of Nuremberg has been over 100. It is now even closer to the 200 mark.

The Robert Koch Institute * (RKI) today announced a value of 191.

In the Nürnberger Land *, too, the incidence value has been over 100 for a week. This means that the rules of the so-called “emergency brake” apply.

Now Easter is just around the corner.

The announced "Easter rest" over the holidays was withdrawn again.

We have summarized for you what is and what is not allowed from Maundy Thursday to Easter Monday in Nuremberg and the Nürnberger Land.

Nuremberg and Nürnberger Land: Corona rules over Easter - Can I celebrate with the family?

Current contact restrictions depend on the seven-day incidence.

Since Nuremberg * and the district far exceed 100, the rules for an incidence value above 100 apply. This means that you can only meet one other person outside your own household.

This does not include children under 14 years of age.

Easter with the whole family has to be canceled.

Spouses, civil partners and partners in a non-marital partnership also count as household items, even if they have different places of residence.

It does not matter whether the person outside the household visits the household or the household comes into the individual person's apartment.

Can I attend church services on the holidays?

The original wish of the federal government to forego attendance at Easter is history.

The Bavarian Ministry of the Interior, the State Chancellery and representatives of the Protestant and Catholic churches met last week.

The result: Believers are allowed to go to churches at Easter, a recommendation not to do that is waived, as reported by Bayerischer Rundfunk

.

So you can go to church at Easter.

However, you have to register for most church services in downtown Nuremberg.

“It is currently NOT possible to take part in many church services without registering through the parish office,” writes the Catholic City Church of Nuremberg on its website.

It is requested to inquire with the respective parish office beforehand.

Rules such as the ban on singing continue to apply during services.

Many of the Nuremberg churches also offer online services or broadcast the services live.

You can pick up an Easter light for your home in the Protestant churches of St. Johannis, Erlenhaben and St. Jobst.

Can I go on a trip to the region or use the public barbecue areas?

The nice weather draws people outside.

Excursions in the region are not prohibited.

However, the appeal remains to stay at home if possible.

In many places, the police are present to ensure that the usual Corona * rules are also observed outdoors.

Grilling in public places remains prohibited in Bavaria.

It is therefore not allowed to grill on the public barbecue areas in the city of Nuremberg.

The city also included this in the general decree on March 9th.

This became necessary because barbecue areas are being used more and more in the beginning of spring, according to the press release at the time.

Especially in good weather, large crowds are to be expected, which could lead to the necessary distances and contact restrictions not being observed.

Further rules to be observed over Easter:

  • There is again a night curfew between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

  • Schools continue to do distance learning, apart from the final classes.

Emergency operation applies in the daycare centers.

City libraries and the city archive will remain open under the previous conditions.

  • As usual, it is mandatory to wear a mask in the designated zones from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., in the areas of the large shopping centers also on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Corona Easter: When can I go shopping and what is open?

The shops for daily needs may open on Maundy Thursday and Holy Saturday as on normal working days.

That means: grocery stores, drugstores, bookstores, opticians, hairdressers, stationery and flower shops, as well as garden and hardware stores will remain open.

The Bavarian Administrative Court (VGH) has decided that shoe shops in Bavaria have recently been allowed to reopen their doors.

The “Click / Call & Collect” concept continues to apply in retail stores.
