According to the weekly data analysis by the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL), the British mutant * is about to completely eradicate the original virus in the Free State.
Your share of all corona cases that tested positive last week in the Free State is already 72 percent - and has thus increased by leaps and bounds.
In the previous week it was still 22 percent.
In the weeks before that, the proportion of Great Britain mutants was only around a fifth.

All VOC virus variants (VOC = Variants of Concern) make up 73 percent.
The Brazilian virus and the South African mutant are also repeatedly detected.

Even the southern mutants seem to have difficulties against the penetration of the UK variant B.1.1.7 *.
According to the LGL, it is not that easy to tell the two virus mutants from overseas apart.
This requires a so-called genome sequencing.
A complex process.
However, this is done if there is a concrete suspicion.
In Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, 29 cases of the Brazilian mutant were detected.
More than anywhere else in Bavaria.
Landsberg am Lech leads the ranking with 115 cases from South Africa.
But the new mutants from Africa and South America are also appearing in major cities in Bavaria.

So far there are no documented cases in Regensburg.

The LGL also points out that the Brazil and South Africa variants even declined in the past calendar week.
Their share in all corona positive tests is only 0.9 percent.
In the previous week it was 2.6 percent.
However, a trend cannot yet be read from it.
