In continuation of support for agricultural production and within the fire response program that took place in Lattakia Governorate during the days 9 and 10 of last October, Lattakia Governorate, in cooperation with the Agricultural and Agrarian Reform Directorate, delivered today “irrigation pipe” hoses to farmers affected by fires in the village of Balloran as compensation for the lost quantities. The length of the pipes that were delivered today and benefited by 144 farmers is about 228 kilometers, with multiple sizes ranging from "one inch to 2.5 inches", at a total cost of 279 million Syrian pounds, and 18 trucks were transported to the village, which came in response to farmers' demands during their meeting with President Bashar Al-Assad. Farmer Bashar Qara Ali said while placing the pipes he received in his tractor trailer: We can now return to agriculture and production. His joy in his ability to return to cultivation again was not hidden by the farmer Yasser Suleiman, who indicated that he had a two-kilometer-long pumping line from the Balloran Junction to his land and said: “I thought that I will not come back again even after ten years, but now after submitting this compensation, I started again. I got full compensation for what I burned, which is 2 kilometers in diameter, "2 inches".

For his part, the agricultural engineer, Saleh Hatem, pointed out that the visit of President al-Assad made a great impact on the souls of the people. At that time, we promised irrigation pipes, and here they arrived, and we will work to revive the land again because production is a service to the country and to those who promised and believed.

The Governor of Latakia, Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem, during the delivery of these compensation, indicated in a statement to reporters that after the fires occurred in this area and other areas in the province of Latakia and the visit of President Al-Assad and in response to the demands of our people there, the hoses were received from the manufacturer after carrying out all the analyzes and specifications to ensure their validity and now they are handed over to farmers. Those affected, as it included 144 citizens, and it came in different sizes and lengths from “an inch to two and a half”, at a total cost of 279 million pounds.

Al-Salem affirmed that the government continues to provide support to our people in these areas to alleviate the burdens and provide various needs, indicating that these compensation are a response to stabilizing farmers with their land.

For his part, the Director of Agriculture, Engineer Munther Khairbek, affirmed that compensation has been handed over to enable citizens to cultivate their lands again, and the transition has been made to development work and there are new projects in the region.
