Fraunberg - The Fraunberg budget, which the local council unanimously approved on Tuesday, comprises around 13 million euros.

It is around 1.8 million euros or twelve percent lower than in the previous year.

This is not due to Corona, but to the mere fact that there are fewer building projects this year.

The municipal administration believes it will be able to make ends meet in 2021 without borrowing and hopes to be able to reach the targeted reserves of almost 480,000 euros by the end of the year.

"To be able to set up a budget in these times, in the greatest recession since the Second World War, is a huge challenge," emphasized Mayor Hans Wiesmaier.

It is difficult to predict how the year will develop.

“There are currently more and more demands on municipal institutions and mandatory measures without us being able to create a balance.

So the question arises: What do we have to be able to afford as a community if we want to accompany social change - for example in schools or children's homes? "

The most important income in the administrative budget, which comprises around 6.98 million euros, includes grants for school transport, children's house operating costs and road maintenance, as well as canal and water fees.

According to Wiesmaier, the waterworks in Maria Thalheim will “only supply little” to the neighboring community of Inning this year.

Regarding tax income, Chamberlain Hermann Hofer said: “We have moderately reduced the trade tax rate by 50,000 euros.

But we expect around one million, like in 2020 ”.

Expenditures in the administrative budget include all costs for schools (including transport), for the children's home, for water supply and road maintenance.

But the district levy also takes its toll: Fraunberg has to give around two million euros this year, around 120,000 euros more than before, to the district.

The second highest item is personnel costs for administration at around 1.1 million euros.

“Currently,” says Wiesmaier, “we have eleven permanent positions, four of which are full-time.

Compared to other communities of the same size, we are certainly not overstaffed ”.

In the six million euro budget, some government grants stand out, for example for the new heating system in the Maria Thalheim gymnasium (330,000 e expenditure / grants: 140,000 e), the redesign of the center of Reichenkirchen (this year 200,000 e expenditure / 280,000 e Grants still open), work on water channels or the expansion of the children's home.

This project is one of the largest expenditure items, with around 1.5 million euros it is one of the most important and financially intensive measures with development costs for the new Reichenkirchen-Ost building area (1.6 million e) and road construction measures (580,000 e) .

Fraunberg does not want to take out any new loans for this, and so it goes into the current financial year with a debt level of around 3.7 million euros.

Around 230,000 euros are to be repaid, with an estimated minus of around 3.5 million euros at the end of the year.

This corresponds to a per capita debt of 905 euros per inhabitant.
