The pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and Biontech, which together developed a vaccine for the corona virus, announced today (Thursday) that the vaccine is effective for a period of only six months.

According to the companies, findings from studies conducted among the company's experimenters show that the vaccine is 91% effective against contracting the virus and remains effective for a period of about six months.

The company's study also revealed that the vaccine is effective against the South African variant of the corona virus, after previous studies cast doubt on the effectiveness of the strain vaccine.

The study also shows that there are no significant side effects to the vaccine.

"This is an important research step that confirms all the indications we have had so far for significant efficacy and safety of the vaccine, especially with regard to the long-term effects of vaccination," says Ugur Sahin, chairman of the German company Biontech. Pfizer chairman Albert Burla Said the results of the study "provide further confidence in the effectiveness of our vaccine."

Millions of doses of Pfizer's vaccine have been given to the population in Israel, and the effectiveness of the vaccine has helped reduce the morbidity data in the country.

This week, the company announced that the vaccine is effective in treating boys aged 12 and 15, and the company is currently conducting trials among children up to the age of six months.
