The Prime Minister will hold a debate in Parliament on the basis of article 50-1 of the Constitution to determine the fate of regional and departmental elections.

It is a "

particularly balanced

" opinion.

During his speech to the National Assembly this Thursday morning, Prime Minister Jean Castex referred to the scientific council's opinion on the maintenance of regional and departmental elections on June 13 and 20.

While the deputies are called upon to debate and then vote on the new health measures, on the basis of article 50-1 of the Constitution which does not engage the responsibility of the government, Jean Castex confirmed that the same device will be used to determine the fate of the next elections.

".

In any case, that is what the Prime Minister assured the deputies.

Without "

clear

" and "

"

instructions

from the scientific council as to a possible postponement, Jean Castex affirmed that "

only pressing health reasons likely to compromise the organization of the campaign or the poll could justify (it) .

"The new health measures, announced the day before by Emmanuel Macron, should also"

improve the health situation at the end of June.

"Faced with the many recommendations made by the scientific council in the event of the election being maintained, Jean Castex however warned that"
