Police arrested a 29-year-old Petah Tikva resident on suspicion of stabbing his friend, assaulting a policewoman and endangering road users while driving wildly on a road without a helmet, while attempting to litter.

The suspect was arrested after a police car hit his motorcycle and he was injured.

He claims he was blackmailed by the guy who was in his apartment who even tried to stab him.

Police opened an investigation this week with a report of a violent incident in an apartment in Tel Aviv, in which a man allegedly stabbed his friend with a knife and punched the victim's mother in the middle of a conflict between the two, when during an attempt to escape from the scene on a motorcycle he tried to stop him.

The police began searching for the suspect, using various means until he was located the next day in a motel in Tel Aviv and arrested at the end of surveillance.

Yesterday, the suspect was brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for an extension of detention, where his lawyer said that his client was dealing with certain mental problems and was addicted to painkillers.

"The suspect has recently gotten into trouble with people who have been blackmailing him for a while. He was asked to buy a motorcycle for them and register in his name. At the height of records the night before, he was summoned to a blackmail meeting, a meeting he had with his two parents, the normative parents who hold senior positions."

"The suspect thought he was coming to a sulha meeting, in which he was required to pay the complainant 100,000 shekels, which he damaged in his good name. My client explained that he had no such sums and the complainant tried to stab him in his apartment and my client escaped with his last forces. He got on his motorcycle and the police arrived because he was so scared. While traveling and left the place, "said attorney Dan Bauman.

"In the end, Judge Mia Roizman-Eldor did not accept the police request to extend the suspect's detention by seven days and was satisfied with only 48 hours, during which the suspect will be transferred to a psychiatric examination in the detention center and prepare a preliminary opinion on the suspect."
