The prosecutor's office today (Thursday) asked the court to compel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to attend a hearing at his trial on Monday, in which the opening speech of the plaintiff, Liat Ben-Ari, will be heard.

In a response submitted by the Tax and Economics Prosecutor's Office to the Jerusalem District Court, it was stated that in this speech, the plaintiff will address "all the charges in the case, the manner in which she will seek to prove them and the expected procedure."

The prosecution added that "the accuser believes that there is a real reason for the defendant's presence in the opening speech, which is the opening status of the entire prosecution case, both in terms of the defendant's implied implicitness and in terms of the appearance of justice."
