Two Capitol Police officers in Washington, DC, were injured Friday outside Congress headquarters after a person hit them with a vehicle.
A suspect is in custody and along with the officers were taken to the hospital, according to reports from the Capitol Police, or USCP.
This occurred at the North Barricade vehicle access point along Independence Avenue, USCP reported.
A car crashed into a barricade in front of the Capitol, injuring two police officers.
The Capitol, home to the House of Representatives and the Senate, is under a state of alert.
Both the congressmen and their staff are prohibited from leaving their buildings while what happened is clarified.
