This 47-year-old Corrézien, tried in immediate appearance, was serving amended prison sentences, partly externalized, in Aurillac (Cantal), but had disappeared since December when his official release was scheduled for February.

He did not want to commit crimes, he explained to the hearing, but to join the emergency room of the Brive hospital where he wanted "to

treat stomach aches which made him suffer a lot

".

But after hitchhiking in Corrèze, staying with a friend, being welcomed to the Samu social, he did not finally go to the hospital until February, a contradiction that the prosecution raised, as well as his "

difficulties

" mentioned. with his educator in Aurillac.

Deputy prosecutor Emilie Lasbats requested a "

return to prison

" for a period of six months for this man with 31 entries in his criminal record, the latest to date for theft and driving without a license.

It was when they wanted to control him on Tuesday in the streets of Brive for not wearing a mask, and to question him, that the police realized that the man was wanted by justice.

His lawyer argued that during his period in Brive the defendant had taken steps for his reintegration, in particular had his identity card redone, and had not committed any offense during his run.

The court opted for a two-month prison sentence with a committal warrant.
