Resuscitation operations are being performed on a 3-year-old man, after he was hit by a vehicle in Moshav Kfar Maimon in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council.
The MDA team that arrived at the scene evacuated him to Soroka Hospital in critical condition, with multi-system damage.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
The driver of the offending vehicle was detained.
Gad Sheffer, a paramedic wearing a motorcycle on MDA, said: "The boy was lying on the road while unconscious and suffering from a very severe multi-system injury."
According to Schaeffer, "he was without a pulse and without breathing. We put him in an intensive care unit while performing resuscitation and evacuated him while continuing medical treatment to a hospital in critical condition."
