Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rodenko confirmed today that the talk of a military confrontation between his country and Ukraine is "pure fiction."
"The talk about an upcoming conflict between Ukraine and Russia is baseless and fake, which is mainly published by the Ukrainian authorities," Rudenko told Sputnik, pointing out that his country is not interested in any conflict, especially the military conflict.
He added, "We do not in any way undermine the efforts of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Russia voted to extend the mandate of the special monitoring mission, and we expect that the organization will continue to contribute to settling the situation in Ukraine and easing tensions in Donbas."
The Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed yesterday that the Russian forces have never participated in the conflict in Ukraine and will not participate in it.
