Entangled in the affair of the grant of 2.5 million euros promised for the construction of a mosque, the mayor of Strasbourg, Jeanne Barseghian, and her team want to counter-attack.

The municipality thus transmitted to Eyup Sahin, president in the east of the controversial Turkish association Millî Görüs, its

"requirements in terms of the solidity of the financing plan and unequivocal adherence to republican principles"

.

"Any additional information, which could be transmitted by the State, will be placed in the file"

, adds the municipality, thus passing the buck to the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, who had launched the controversy by denouncing

"the financing of" foreign interference ”

.

"No element has reached us, neither before nor after, concerning this association"

, comments a relative of Jeanne Barseghian.

The mayor will take
