A 22-year-old girl died at dawn this Friday after the car in which she was traveling at high speed with four other friends hit a column and collapsed part of a roof of a business premises
The incident occurred at the corner of Rivadavia and Viamonte, in the Buenos Aires town of Villa Caraza, in Lanús.
According to witnesses, the vehicle, an Audi A1, was traveling "at more than 150 kilometers per hour" at the time the driver lost control.
In addition to the fatal victim, the other four members were admitted with various traumas at the Evita de Lanús Hospital.
“A boy that we took out, conscious and very scared, was asking about his friends.
He had several multiple trauma just like the rest.
They were conscious but with a nervous breakdown.
There was no car involved except this one, ”said
Hernando Jorge
, fire chief in charge of the operation.
"He was alone, when he hit the corner, he lifted off and hit a column," Jorge said.
The car was practically
destroyed
and the firefighters had to work with a special cutting and expansion team to be able to remove the injured.
The lottery venue was destroyed and part of the roof collapsed.
“We do not know who was driving, two flew off and the rest were inside the vehicle.
They are young boys, in their 20s, ”said the fire chief.
The Audi engine
broke off and appeared meters
from the scene.
Civil Defense personnel arrived at the scene of the accident around 3:45 and pointed out that both the driver and the girl next to him walked out and had injuries.
But firefighters had to cut the back of the car to rescue the three victims who were trapped behind.
There they found that one of the young women, 22, was deceased.
Personnel from the Lanús Oeste Police Station intervened.
