Sounds of boots, real or supposed, threatening remarks softened by diplomatic balm and assurances of good intentions: the conflict in eastern Ukraine has been experiencing renewed tension in recent weeks.
Clashes have increased between the Kiev forces and pro-Russian separatists from the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), raising fears of further escalation.
Twenty Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and fifty wounded since the start of the year - the seventh on the calendar in a war that has left more than 13,000 dead on both sides.
The truce that was observed during the second part of 2020 has indeed lived.
On March 26, four Ukrainian soldiers were still killed and two others wounded on the front line, following mortar bombardments from the DPR, which the separatist forces deny, speaking of the explosion of a mine.
